MILAGRO / BARTOLEX
Milagro, Bartolex, and Cathedral Guitars are designed by Neris Gonzalez, who also supervises production at the very best western-trained luthier workshop in China. Milagro is the all-solid, top-of-the-line model, with premium woods and the best possible materials and workmanship, but still at an affordable price. Bartolex is the mid-line models, with solid spruce or cedar tops, and laminated Indian Rosewood back & sides. Cathedral Guitars is the entry-level line, with solid cedar tops and Mahogany back and sides.

I have played and owned dozens of multi-string classical guitars, and this instrument rivals, equals or surpasses most luthier-built guitars in the 3k - 6k range. This guitar has a AAA-grade solid Cedar top (Spruce top available upon request), solid East Indian Rosewood back & Sides, ebony fretboard, and creates a beautifully-balanced sound with nice trebles, deep basses, and excellent resonance and sympathetic sustain. The alto scale allows the guitar to be tuned up to G, and the extended length bass scale plus the sound port, creates a big, powerful sound with the excellent volume and projection. This is a wonderful guitar for playing lute music, transcriptions, and original compositions.

STRINGS
I have the guitar tuned in Romantic tuning in to G, a standard 11-string tuning where 1-6 are tuned up a minor third, and 7-11 descend step-wise: 7=D, 8=C, 9=B, 10 =A, 11=G. It can also be tuned in Dm tuning for Baroque Dm lute music. Strings By Mail has a great selection of 11-string sets and can put together custom sets for you at a discount over individual strings. Several excellent string manufacturers offer multi-string sets, including D'Addario, Hannabach, and Savarez.
